Many were left bewildered today as a string of mass resignations within the City of Lander Police Department were brought about following the replacement of former Acting Chief of Police, zac2524, by Governor Arvantise. The unpopular decision to replace him with the current Acting Chief of Police, aszev, is unknown at this time.
As most are aware, former Governor and Former Chief of LPD, Ghostanovah, resigned on February 6th. He placed zac2524 in the position of Acting Chief as the two shared similar leadership styles and operational ideas. However, as of the 13th of February, the Governor, Arvantise, replaced him with aszev.
Many within the Lander Police Department predicted that this could occur, including Former Captain MorrisPlayz, Head of the Field Operations Bureau, and former Captain Yankaldo, Head of the Special Operations Bureau. Backdoor deals to resign upon the expected replacement of the Acting Chief of Police were made, and as such, three members of the high command resigned, those being:
Former Acting Chief of Police/Assistant Chief of Police zac2524
Former Captain of the Field Operations Bureau MorrisPlayz
Former Captain of the Special Operations Bureau Yankaldo
When we reached out to all three who resigned, the following statements were made.
Yankaldo
“Basically we got the feeling that Arvantise was not going to select Zac as the new chief, I had told the other people in command that if Zac is not chosen as chief I am leaving, Morris agreed with me that he would do it too,” Yankaldo commented, “Fast forward a week or so later aszev is chosen as the new acting chief, so we basically just decided to resign because I don’t stand for that. We all worked really closely together in high command.”

“Last week, Governor Arvantise elevated me to Acting Chief. He didn’t give me any instructions and hesitated to even say that he would back me for Chief. Today, he replaced me with a Detective for Acting Chief. I believe that from the beginning, he never wanted to see me as Chief. He appointed someone, presumably, close to him without understanding the needs of the department,” zac2524 told us, “I simply can not work under an administration that blatantly goes above my head to appoint a chief more favorable to them. I immediately resigned after being replaced as Acting Chief. Most of my command, which has backed me for Chief assured me that they would not stay in this department if I was not appointed Chief. Those individuals are Yankaldo and MorrisPlayz. They have both resigned alongside myself. This whole situation begs the question of whose motives are really being followed.”

“I can’t speak for the rest, but I’ll speak on my behalf. I’m tired. I’ve been within Lander Police Department for exactly 2 years today, hired 02/13/2022. I’ve seen both the bad side and the good side of Lander PD. The correlation of all command members leaving is odd for one, but my resignation was long overdue. I planned on resigning earlier but I wanted to keep the LPD structure positive and somewhat pleasing. No one wants to see a flimsy department especially for the new comers in LETI. Final, RETIRED.”
This sudden string of resignations leaves both the officers and staff under the LPD and the residents of New Haven County clueless to the effects of the new and sudden leadership vacancies, and even if they can trust this new acting chief. This was highlighted by zac2524 in his resignation letter.
We decided to continue seeking opinions, so we headed to the former Chief of Police, Ghostanovah, who said…
“Under my administration, I restored the department’s reputation, allowing it to operate at full capacity. Zac and I have always been committed to maintaining integrity & devotion, which has allowed us to stay stable. As a result of a lack of motivation, I opted to resign from my position as Chief of Police. My recommendations were clear and concise, to appoint Zac as my successor. Arvantise acted contrary to my recommendations and appointed a failed Chief of Police, Aszev, who consistently lacks any commitment to any responsibility he holds. This comes at a time when the department needs leadership who is not driven by nepotism or their own interest, but the department interests. As a result of Arvantise’s ignorance of the department’s needs, a truly remarkable command team resigned in mass. My advice to sleepy Arvantise is to reconsider his decision or step down and allow someone who cares about the department and the state to succeed him.” – Ghostanovah
And during this article’s very creation, three more LPD officers chose to resign from the department. Despite this, no comment has been given in a press release by the new high command team.
With the current state of disarray within LPD, it begs the question, what happens now? LPD is under extreme pressure, not just from the city residents, but possibly from the wider county and state.
